I have read the blah blah articles in this series by Prince and Daniel. The conclusion they seem to insinuate is that all hardware and software manufacturers in the mobile devices space are doomed in the future accept for Apple.
Thanks, nevertheless, for your detailed effort.

As for the future, we will see the trend in two years time...

Daniel...
I really love the in depth articles, but there was this thing invented a couple of thousand years ago called "pages".
The reason they're important is that when reading on an iPhone and the screen refreshes for any number of reasons, it can be really hard to pick up where you left off.
And if you have a voice on AppleInsider, get them to drop the permanent header and footer menus from their iPhone reader.

Even professional sports teams have their own apps - download and install the Toronto Maple Leaf app on your phone, it will keep you updated on the scores. However considering how badly they are playing, you may not WANT to be updated on the scores...

Dan - excellent analysis. I pity the fools that are buying the Droid and other Android handsets unaware of what they are truly getting, or not getting. (And for Verizon users, are locked into the offensive and obscene early termination fee.) The mobile handset makers are jumping on the Android bandwagon thinking that this is going to give them a leg up, or at least a competitive position against the iPhone, while they still get to use their usual business model of building custom phones and features to differentiate themselves but trap the consumer. As has been the case for years, fools abound in the global cell phone market.
