In many ways the same problem could (is waiting to?) happen with any web based service. I am not the paranoid type, but I have been warning of this since everyone started using Hotmail, Yahoo, gmail, etc.. as their main email back as far as 1995.
When you store your personal information with/at someone else you leave them with significant control over your information. Sure their servers could burn... Sure they could be a victim on fraud, sabotage, or Monkey-Boy-Chair-Throw-dogfooding management lunacy. But it seems in today's reality YOUR PERSONAL DATA is more likely to be used in the name of marketing and government Total Information Awareness profiling when it sits on someone else's data centers than when it sits on your home computer.

Just a word of warning--When you leave care of your personal data to another, you better be comfortable with their hand around your wedding tackle, 'cuz that's where they got you.

Just a word from Alaska on a warm fall night
