No-one seems to have written a comment about the SD Cards potential to replace CDs for music & DVD for movies. At the retail level. Perhaps relevant for the rental model too ? Some things are too big to download. Some people like to go to the store. Bundling is an effective business practice, and high speed SD Card "printing" at the store would be possible ? Seems like Apple have another Trojan horse (like iChat) which is justifyable on the basis you've already presented.
