However, the demonstration not only revealed Apple’s most important leap yet in mobile devices, but also answered the pleas of a diabetic blogger.

Why is Ryan Naraine, a “security evangelist” for Kaspersky Lab, writing news for ZDNet? And why is he only serving up half the juice that flows from Charlie Miller, the famous Mac cracker of CanSecWest? The biggest news to come out of iPhone 3.0 is its new support for external peripherals, a move that will expand the iPhone and its iPod touch sibling into new territory as a central hub for controlling all sorts of embedded devices. It will also bring Apple’s new mobile platform even closer to the open-ended premise of the old Newton Message Pad.
