@daGUY,
"Compare it to the iPod - once it started to take off, it had the same ridiculous year-over-year numbers, but now that’s dropped to the single digits because everyone already has one! There’s less and less room to grow."

Well if we get really technical, the iPhone is also a widescreen, MultiTouch, WiFi-enabled iPod, so I wouldn't be surprised if the iPod's once single-digit gains have now picked up again factoring in iPhone sales.

If Nokia gets to combine its smartphone and "dumb" phone sales in the cell market, why can't Apple combine iPod and iPhone sales in the music player market?

To be fair, we should look at the iPhone's numbers in perspective. Yes, the 327% growth year-over-year is certainly amazing, but keep in mind that the iPhone has plenty of room to grow - it started from *zero* only a little over a year ago. Nokia has been around for years and years, and they're the current market leader, so of course the potential for growth is less.

Still, I think the iPhone is in a much better position to succeed over the long term.
