I heard another of our lawyers say he had another thinking very seriously about doing the same. Even when someone asks me what kind of computer to get, I usually point them to a MAC. Most times is pictures, email and internet they want to do. And paying a bit more, as I tell others, would you rather pay a little bit more now (even a Mini is 500-600 bucks) and be able to still use it for a few more years than a regular PC? Apple's growth is already accelerating tremendously, far outpacing any other PC makers (40% growth year-over-year, vs. the rest of the PC market which has stayed flat) - and this is *without* having to license the Mac OS! Why? Apple’s growth is already accelerating tremendously, far outpacing any other PC makers (40% growth year-over-year, vs. the rest of the PC market which has stayed flat) – and this is *without* having to license the Mac OS! Where ?. Having a mac desktop/laptop in an office does not mean you have taken over enterprise arena. The back end is still running either windows/LINUX/SOLARIS, exchange/domino, microsoft share point, MS SQL SERVER or ORACLE, SAP - Most of the major enterprise applications have been developed either for J2EE or .NET Platform Period. Even theserverside.net has admitted that development on J2EE platform has dropped compared to .NET. As for Windows Mobile, Microsoft will open up the platform. It is a matter of time. NOKIA has already opened up SYMBIAN and has licenced Exchange Client. As developers we already have access to the WINCE OS which is the core platform that Win Mobile runs on it. No non sense about NDA etcs and being told your application is not good enough for us!. The MAC and IPHONE/ITUNE etc have there respective places and so does LINUX/SOLARIS and Windows and ORACLE and MS SQL SERVER and EXCHANGE and DOMINO. We cannot have one comapany and one software fit evey one's need. We need choices.
