@ Arnold Ziffel
That's a good point about clothing at the retail stores. If shelf space is a premium for the mall stores, it may not make sense to add a section for clothing. The web store on the other hand, is a perfect place!

Had it been most any other ignorant pundit writing about the "Finder Store" I would have just passed it over. But in this and among all the other fine and well-reasoned articles, this tidbit just sounds awkward and ludicrous. I'll forgive you and convince myself that you were smoking something way cool when you wrote that :)

Dan said "Here’s a look at what’s likely to be revealed, some promising ideas that are less likely to get delivered, and things that have no chance of happening."

You said "...this article was a disappointment on many levels being that you have taken a nearly complete departure from the world of facts you usually base your articles on."

RoughlyDrafted isn't the Wall Street Journal, it's a personal blog. Dan didn't site any sources or claim to have inside information. This post was speculation, guesswork and opinion. We like to read RDM because it is objective and full of facts. A large part of his work is directed toward "journalists" who make stuff up or quote sources who make things up. Here, I think, Dan was just tossing his penny into the fountain like the rest of us. He does back up his thoughts with historical perspective so give him a few points for that.

The days and weeks leading up to MacWorld are supposed to be fun... "Its fun, a bit like Xmas for grown-ups." Yeah, that's the spirit. And by the way, I once paid $15 for a pair of Apple boxer shorts. At the time, that was a lot of money for underwear. I don't think we'll see a clothing section at Apple's retail stores but online sales of logo stuff would be pretty hot stuff during the holidays.

Well, I originally thought the next version of the MacPro would have Display Port standard on them. Guess not.

I really think the leaked "how the iPhone was made" article that was on the net last week points to Apple working on, and perhaps finally delivering, a real touch based computer. I really can't believe that they would delay it forever. A Mac that is touched based would amazing. After using the iPhone, and moving around the net with your fingers, it makes the mouse seem dated. And it is dated. It has been around forever.

My bet is that Apple will introduce a lighter, new Mac, but it will be a touched based. Or touch will be a big part of it.

@3199cc:

Seems to me that you are about 1cc short of 4 liters....

Lighten up, man, it is that time of year, the Apple speculation for MacWorld.
Its fun, a bit like Xmas for grown-ups.

The article CLEARLY stated its intentions in the first paragraph.
And anyway, you indulged in speculation yourself with comments about Apple TV and the 'Airport Disk as a server' notion.

We have heard the 'presenting' problem - now tell me, what is really upsetting you?
